With a spacious 4,000 sq. ft., modern European restaurant Mano at The L. Place, Central, is standing out from the crowd with a ‘His & Hers’ Valentine’s Day menu, tailoring individual dishes designed for that special man or woman in your life.
“Dishes for ‘her’ are relatively light with an emphasis on desserts which we’ve noticed appeal to women’s sweet taste at Mano,” said Chae Hee Cheon, Founding Partner. “For ‘him’, the menu includes New Zealand Sirloin steak, a male crowd-pleaser, which is so popular we can’t seem to take it off the menu!”
The price of the Valentine’s dinner menu is set at HK$1,314*, in Cantonese and Mandarin the pronunciation of 1,314 mimics the sound of “love forever”. The menu will be available for the month of February to celebrate the romantic season.
Manowelcomes couples with a traditional glass of celebratory Catalan bubbly, NV Alta Alella Privat Laietà Cava – or for those preferring to embark immediately on the ‘His & Hers’ menu, a ‘Bloodhound’ cocktail for her and ‘Rob Roy Scotch’ for him.
The amuse bouche of Tomato Jelly for two signals the crossroads for the three different courses.
For Her, a seductive appetiserof Grilled Pear Salad with watercress and gorgonzola is followed by main course of Pan Seared Sea Bass with glazed baby carrots and French beans. Dessert is a smouldering Chocolate Molten Cakewith vanilla ice-cream.
For Him, the appetiser is a trusty aphrodisiac of half a dozen Fresh Oysters with shallot vinaigrette and cocktail sauce – followed by a hearty Sirloin Steak with sautéed mushroom and asparagus for good measure, and dessert of Chocolate Covered Strawberries dropping the final hint.
The dual romantic menu includes Mano Specialty Coffee, which claims the title of one of the ‘Best Coffees in Hong Kong’, or a choice of tea.
